SHADOW POSTERS
These posters stretch the notion of the object poster by hiding the objects more than displaying them, alluding to a larger theme of C.G. Jung’s shadow archetypes. “Trickster” refers to Hermes, “shapeshifter” refers to the Joker, and “seducer” refers to the death figure. The darkness catches your eye from afar, as do the objects almost fully submerged into a grainy shadow, and then the vinyl-cut sans serif letters carefully placed on matte paper ever so slightly glint in the light. These factors draw you in closer to examine the posters and ultimately find the small body text on each that go further into the shadow self and archetypes. I made them for my Poster class for the “object poster” unit senior year.
